Lin Zhen Xiu, or Chenx of her artist’s name, is of Sino-Thai origin. Her family fled Cambodia and the red Khmers’ regime at the end of 1970.
After her law studies, she dedicated herself to painting. Her work testifies of the influence of the West while keeping an aesthetics and an approach stemming from the Chinese traditional painting and the Feng-Shui.
Through her paintings, Chenx aspires to a certain aesthetic research between abstraction and representation. Her favourite subjects are: cranes, tigers, flowers (peonias, peach, lotus, bamboo flower), birds and carps.
