Golrokh Mahtaj was born in Teheran in 1982. He is a graduate of the Fine Arts University of Teheran, and he exposes regularly both in Teheran and in France.
Through his paintings, Golrokh Mahtaj summarizes the life of his grandmother. The latter lived in a large house animated by the laughter of children. All the joys and the sorrows of this family happened in this house.
Through his work, Golrokh Mahtajseeks to evoke the memories of this house: a sober decoration, the carpets and the typical objects of the Iranian houses. He tries to transcribe the nostalgia that haunts these places, by a game of faded sand color filtered lights.
