Navarra

Navarra

Navarra studied at the National School Fine Arts. He initially chose the architecture section before turning to painting.

Throughout his career, he would be strongly influenced by the architecture seening his paintings’ construction. Navarra likes to travel throughout the world in particular in Italy, Greece and in England. It is by using rapid sketches taken on the subjects that he created the majority of his paintings in his workshop. He likes to combine the shades and the lights by obtaining differences in plans and depths.

This painter presents a very simple view of constructions, rich colors, always in the same chromatism the blue ones while introducing some subtlety. Navarra’s very white landscapes contrast with the limpid blue of the sea and the shades of the mountain in Crete, for example.

The majority of Navarra’s landscapes are held near to a point of water, this later made of impressionist keys emphasizes the buildings of a rather naive style.
